Subject: The Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Bill.

This is to state, for information of all concerned, that enactment of a legislation, namely, ” The assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Bill”, has been under consideration in the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Heath and Family Welfare, Government of India, for quite some time. The proposed legislation aims at proper regulation and supervision of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) clinics and banks in the country, and for prevention of misuse of technology, including surrogacy, and for safe and ethical practice of ART services.

A copy of the draft Bill, titled ” The Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Bill, 2014″ is annexed for perusal of all concerned. Comments/ suggestion, if any, on the provisions of the draft bill are invited from the public in general and all stakeholders within a period of forty-five days. Comments/suggestion may be sent to the undersigned by post / fax, mail, ( email ID: art-dhr@gov.in or rpmeenahealth@gmail.com) within the period.
